FAQ
1
How to calculate the number of shuttering magnets required for one side formwork?
The calculation steps are as follows (safety factor is recommended to be 1.2):
Calculate the maximum static lateral pressure of concrete + additional horizontal vibration load to get the total horizontal thrust of one side formwork.
Total thrust × safety factor ÷ effective horizontal resistance per shuttering magnet.
Round up the calculation result to get the number of shuttering magnets required for one side.
2
How to avoid damage to the internal magnets of a shuttering magnet and extend its service life?

Sintered NdFeB is hard, brittle, fragile and corrosion-prone. Please note:

① It is strictly forbidden to hit the magnet with external force or damage the anti-corrosion coating on the magnet surface.

② During assembly, the magnet surface is slightly lower than the iron strip plane, which can effectively avoid impact.

③ Stainless steel protective ring process can be adopted to provide physical protection for magnets against collision and corrosion.

3
What are the core precautions for installation and use of shuttering magnets?

1. Do not confuse rated value with effective value: The nominal value of a shuttering magnet is vertical suction force. To resist horizontal formwork expansion force, it must be multiplied by a reduction coefficient of 0.5. It is forbidden to directly use the rated suction as the horizontal resistance design value.

2. Must be installed tightly: The shuttering magnet must be tightly fitted against the side formwork back plate. The suction surface and mold table surface must be cleaned; iron filings and concrete residues will directly cause resistance failure.

3. Bottom is the main resistance area: The resultant point of lateral pressure is close to the bottom surface, so shuttering magnets must be arranged at the rigid back edge at the bottom of the formwork. The upper tie rod only controls opening deformation and cannot replace shuttering magnets to bear horizontal thrust.

4
What tools should be used to clean the bottom of a shuttering magnet? What are the taboos?
① For ordinary debris, use a stainless steel scraper; iron scrapers are strictly prohibited, as they will be directly adsorbed by the magnet and cannot complete the cleaning.
② For stubborn attachments such as concrete that are difficult to clean, a grinder equipped with a steel wire polishing disc can be used for polishing and cleaning.
5
What are the main causes of suction drop and "demagnetization" of shuttering magnets?
Poor fitting of magnetic surface: Foreign matters such as concrete, iron filings and films on the bottom of the shuttering magnet, or uneven magnetic surface itself, will create gaps with the mold table, and the suction force will be greatly attenuated as the distance increases.

Internal magnet damage: NdFeB is hard and brittle. Cracking due to impact, damage and corrosion of the surface coating will all lead to decreased magnetic performance.

Over-temperature operation: Ambient temperature exceeding the maximum operating temperature of the selected material grade will cause irreversible magnetic attenuation.
In addition, excessive tolerance of assembly screw holes and loose dislocation of iron strips will also cause uneven overall magnetic surface and reduce working suction.
6
Is after-sales service available for suction drop of shuttering magnets?
We provide comprehensive after-sales service: we assist in on-site investigation of the causes of suction drop, and restore the magnetism of shuttering magnets through professional cleaning, structural repair, component replacement, etc. We also provide maintenance equipment solutions such as shuttering magnet cleaning machines to help customers establish a daily maintenance system.
7
Is displacement or insufficient suction of shuttering magnets during use a manufacturing quality problem?
Displacement or insufficient magnetism caused by uncleaned slurry, excessive pouring lateral pressure, improper operation and maintenance, or failure to carry out regular maintenance as required does not belong to equipment manufacturing quality problems. For non-artificial magnet performance attenuation under normal use conditions, please contact after-sales for inspection and treatment.
8
How to arrange shuttering magnets along the length of the component?
Arrange them at equal intervals along the length according to the calculated quantity. For on-site construction, it is recommended to take a clear spacing of 1000mm, with the allowance at both ends evenly distributed. All shuttering magnets shall be uniformly arranged at the rigid back edge at the bottom of the formwork to prioritize the lateral pressure resistance of the lower part.
9
How to convert between rated vertical suction and effective horizontal resistance of a shuttering magnet?
The nominal value of a shuttering magnet is vertical suction force. When used to resist horizontal formwork expansion force, it shall be converted according to the 0.5 horizontal resistance reduction coefficient commonly used in the prefabrication industry. Example: For a shuttering magnet with a rated vertical suction of 24kN per unit, effective horizontal resistance = 24kN × 0.5 = 12kN per unit.
10
What is the function of the shuttering magnet cleaning machine? Can it restore magnetism?
The shuttering magnet cleaning machine can efficiently remove stubborn attachments such as concrete residues and iron filings on the suction surface, eliminate suction loss caused by gaps, help restore the effective suction of shuttering magnets that "demagnetize" due to dirty contact surfaces, and extend the service life of shuttering magnets.
11
Can the suction of a shuttering magnet be restored by overall magnetization?
No, overall magnetization is not feasible. A shuttering magnet is assembled with multiple magnets of different polarities, and cannot be magnetized as a whole in a magnetizer like a single magnet. To restore suction, you must first identify the specific cause, and restore magnetism through targeted measures such as cleaning the contact surface, repairing the assembly structure, and replacing damaged magnets.
12
Will shuttering magnets naturally demagnetize after long-term use?
Under normal working conditions, NdFeB permanent magnets themselves will not demagnetize naturally. Most suction drops on site are not caused by natural magnetic attenuation of the magnet itself, but by reduced effective suction due to external or structural factors such as foreign matters on the contact surface, structural loosening, magnet damage, and over-temperature operation.
