The precast concrete magnet box is designed for fixing precast concrete formwork/shuttering. Compared with traditional mechanical fixing methods such as screw fasteners and nuts, the
shuttering magnet features flexible application, fast operation, high safety and high efficiency in precast concrete production.
Instruction for Use
(1) An ON/OFF button is installed on the top of the magnet box. In working status, press the button, and the magnet box will firmly fix the shuttering on the platform. Pull up the button with a lever to switch the magnet box to the closed state for free movement.
(2) The magnetic force of the magnet box depends on the thickness and smoothness of the steel worktable — thicker and smoother surfaces deliver better performance. The lateral shear resistance is determined by the magnetic suction force and the friction coefficient of the contact surface.
Taking the SAIXIN SX-1000B shuttering magnet as an example, this paper analyzes the relationship between the holding force and the gap between the magnet base and the steel platform. 0 to 10 sheets of A4 paper (single thickness: 0.09 mm) were placed between the magnet base and the platform to simulate different gaps, and the adsorption holding force of the magnet box under each condition was tested. The test data are as follows.
(3) Two screws on both sides of the magnet box can be assembled with various adapters to fix different formwork accessories, such as steel angles, steel channels and other profiles.
(4) SAIXIN® magnet boxes adopt high-performance permanent neodymium magnets. Theoretically, if the maximum working temperature is kept below 80℃ and no damage or corrosion occurs, the magnetic suction can be maintained permanently.
(5) Working conditions: The ambient working temperature shall not exceed 80℃; operation in corrosive environments is prohibited.
Instruction for Maintenance
(1) To prevent damage to the magnet box, do not collide it or strike it with hard tools. If striking isnecessary, only use a rubber hammer.
(2) Keep the contact surface of the magnet box clean and smooth. Prevent iron scraps and concrete grout from entering the magnet box. Otherwise, the flexibility of the switch button will be impaired, and the magnet will become tilted. This will cause poor fitting with the steel platform and result in reduced holding force.
(3) Due to the strong magnetic force, keep the magnet box away from precision instruments, electronicdevices and other ferromagnetic materials. Once adsorbed together, they are difficult to separate. It is recommended to store the magnets in a dedicated toolbox.
(4) The contact surface of the magnet box shall be kept clean and smooth at all times. Apply anti-rust oil for long-term storage. The maximum working and storage temperature shall not exceed 80℃, and corrosive substances in the surrounding environment must be avoided. Regularly check the close contact between the magnet base and the platform, as well as the flexibility of the button, to ensure stable performance.
(5) Clean the magnet box after each use. If any foreign matter remains on the magnet box base, please remove it with a stainless steel scraper. For stubborn contaminants such as concrete, use the specially developed SAIXIN magnet box cleaning machine. Afterwards, place the magnet box on a stainless steel or wooden bracket. Iron brackets are prohibited.
