How should Chinese businesses respond to the export restrictions on magnets ？

April.2025 , The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has released Document No.18 ,Implement export controls on heavy rare earth related items .

So recently Chinese Customs conducts strict inspections on the export of heavy rare earths . many products can be not shipped out , or being detained at customs for inspection .

How should we deal with it under such strict export control ?

• Firstly , we are actively looking for magnet without controlled elements , useing qualified magnet to do mass production .

• Secondly , we can apply for Export License for Dual-use Items and Technologies of PRC . But this requires strong cooperation from our customers , because we need to provide information about the customer’s company , proof of end use (must be original and stamped for return),and a series of files . The approval time will be relatively after all files are provided , which is 45 working days . So we suggest our customer prepare in advance .

• Due to the strict control now , many forwarders do not accept scattered goods , so we also suggest that you can place more orders at one time , and determine a full container shipment .

However , even if we fully prepared , there is still a possibility of customs inspection , so pls all customers who place orders can wait patiently , leave enough time for factory to arrange the shipment
